As a retired U.S. Army veteran committed to supporting those who have served, I am inspired by your SDVOSB’s innovative methods and dedication to excellence. Despite billions invested over 50 years, challenges persist: 32,882 veterans are homeless (HUD 2024), PTSD contributes to elevated suicide rates, and 75% of transitioning veterans face unemployment. I invite you to partner on our Serenity Stronghold Action Plan to make meaningful progress in addressing these issues.
Our 8-year plan establishes 50 centers nationwide, starting with 12 in Phase 1 (2026–2028). Themed around wellness, job training, and family support, the centers feature evidence-based therapies like model train railroading ($200 per veteran, with potential for 50–80% PTSD symptom reduction through mindfulness and camaraderie, based on studies of similar recreational therapies) and complementary treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy and animal-assisted programs. We’ll build 10,000 housing units, prioritizing VA facility reuse for efficiency, and extend services to first responders facing similar PTSD rates (17–24%).
Your BIM and laser scanning expertise would be invaluable for our Albany (Resilience Refuge) and New York (Vitality Vault) centers under the VA’s Veterans First Contracting Program.
Ask:
- Construct the two centers ($20M contract) and donate $3M in materials to support our New York initiatives.
- Apply BIM to reduce costs by 15% and optimize designs.
